Charlie Chan in Egypt: An X-ray machine reveals the presence of a corpse in an Egyptian sarcophagus. It is not that of the ancient high priest. Instead the body is that of the archaeologist who was thought to be on a trip to the Upper Nile, but is now found murdered. Paddy O'Day: Withers is an immigrant who learns on arrival in the U.S. that her mother is dead. Friends help her survive as an entertainer, and success is a good argument against the immigration officials. Old Louisiana: The setting is 1803 and the Louisiana Purchase is imminent. Gilmore is smuggling guns into St. Louis so his men can make him Governor of the new Louisiana Territory. But when John Colfax, after conferring with President Jefferson, finds the guns, Gilmore gets him thrown in jail. Special Inspector: Filmed in Canada as part of the UK-Quota System: U. S. Customs Agent Tom Evans is given the assignment of running down a smuggling ring which hijacks Canadian fur-shipper's trucks and sells the loot in the United States. He gets a job with the trucking firm that has been hijacked the most by the gang, and is a hijack victim his first night on the road. Several clues lead him to the thieve's trail, but he overplays his cards at the head-office of the fur shippers, and is identified as a Customs Agent. Rita Hayworth would go on and make a couple of films in which she had a little bit more to do than she has in this b-feature programmer. Music in My Heart: Rita Hayworth co-stars with famed recording artist Tony Martin in this musical comedy featuring the music of Andre Kostelanetz and his orchestra. Following various comic misunderstandings, the two meet and fall for each other, but will lose their chance at happiness unless destiny calls. Blondie on a Budget: Dagwood wants to join the trout club and Blondie wants a fur coat. Jealousy reigns when Dag's old girlfriend Joan shows up, but nothing else matters when a drawing at the movie theatre provides money for the coat.
