Synopsis:

Copenhague, 1958. Avec ses copains de l'orphelinat Benny et Kjeld, Egon invente continuellement de nouveaux plans pour une vie meilleure. Sa dernière trouvaille : se faire adopter par des parents riches. Il croit avoir trouvé la perle rare dans ce couple distingué qui le choisit... Mais il déchantera lorsqu'il s'apercevra être destiné à devenir le premier enfant envoyé dans l'espace. Ses copains et lui déjoueront par des tours ingénieux les plans des méchants savants.
