When a woman's teenage daughter is murdered and the killer is set free, she takes matters into her own hands - and soon finds that law and justice are two different things. Laura Elias (Donna Mills) has a tense relationship with Carly (Ari Meyers), the older of her two daughters. After one of many fights, Carly drives off in Laura's car on an errand for Laura, has car trouble, and is helped by a charming young man, Peter (Adam Storke), who offers to drive her home.
