Synopsis:

Le cadavre d'une femme est retrouvé dans un zoning industriel au Texas. En quatorze mois, quatre jeunes femmes ont disparu dans des circonstances similaires, et ont été retrouvées à des kilomètres de leur domicile... Les malheureuses sont toutes découvertes dans des poses très particulières... Le capitaine Swaggert demande à l'inspecteur Audrey MacCley de mener l'enquête. Cette dernière accepte, après mûres réflexions, car les précédentes affaires dont elle s'est occupée l'ont beaucoup perturbée... En examinant le cadavre avant l'inhumation, la jeune femme découvre que la victime a été asphyxiée avec un sac en plastique
