Synopsis:

Contraint à piloter Airwolf, un hélicoptère de combat à la pointe de la technologie, Stringfellow Hawke le vole à l’Agence pour la contraindre à retrouver son frère porté disparu au Viêtnam. Il utilise l’appareil pour remplir des missions plutôt officieuses pour son compte ou celui de la CIA (où son contact est Michael Archangel), avec l’aide de son mentor Dominic Santini et plus tard de Caitlin O’Shaugnessy. Après la mort de String et Dominic, une nouvelle équipe pilote l’hélicoptère, cette fois plus officiellement.
