Yale University student Paul (Will Rogers) has just moved into an apartment with his girlfriend Jen (Rebecca Lawrence) and is struggling to finish his dissertation. As Paul unpacks his belongings, he discovers he's left something behind; a battered copy of Charles Dickens' "Little Dorrit" which he needs to complete his studies. He will have to retrieve it from his former roommate - the obstinate and sinister Nancy (Eleonore Hendricks). Paul contacts Nancy, but she will not cooperate. As Paul gradually tears himself apart trying to get the book back, his relationship and career begin to unravel and he soon discovers that his confrontation with Nancy is about to get much, much worse.
