The Gods never die In Kerala, in the south of India, social and religious life is animated by many rituals. One of the most important is the Tirayattam or "Dance of Splendor". On this occasion, the gods and ancestors manifest themselves on earth in order to bring their blessing to the villagers. They are embodied by dancers in costume and sumptuous makeup, whose evolutions are punctuated to the sound of percussion.
