Mohammad Fathy lived all his days next to the Nile. And he was as sick as this highly polluted river. He suffered from chronic kidney failure, which killed him. The film tells his story both during his life - his refusal to buy a kidney from a poor "donor" - and after. It deals with the relationship to the body, tradition, religion, family, healing, and survival in he context of Egypt after a revolution that is precisely about the respect of human dignity and the human body.
