In Diafarabé, a village in Macina, Mali, a sumptuous Fulani celebration takes place every year at the same time to honor the shepherds, poets, and their herds of transhumant return in the immense Sahelian plain. It is a unique moment where the ancestral tales mingle with the sung poems, where the bodies of the shepherds and their cattle seem to be taken with the same vertigo. This film is part of the Lumière d'Afrique collection. In Diafarabe, a village of the Macina region in Mali, a lavish Fula festival takes place at the same time every year to honor the poet-herdsmen and their cattle returning from transhumance to the vast Sahel plain. This is a unique moment when tales from time immemorial mingle with sung poems, while the herdsmen's and their cattle's bodies seem to have been seized by the same kind of vertigo.
