Original French production retold in English for National Geographic channel as: World War 1: The Apocalypse. Apocalypse: the Battle of Verdun: A gripping and shocking documentary composed of numerous colorized archive footage. Apocalypse: Verdun takes us to the infamous and bloody battle of Verdun that occurred in February 1916, when World War I had been raging for two years. Apocalypse Never-Ending War 1918-1926: November 11, 1918. As the First World War ends, survivors realize that the world of yesterday is gone forever, buried in the ruins. The victors concoct a precarious peace treaty which they impose on the vanquished. In Europe, Africa, and Asia new nations are forged, often through strife and conflict. In no time hatred, fear, and resentment bubble up from the depths of traumatized societies, sowing chaos in the new world order: revolutions, crises, waves of migration, and civil wars are fertile ground for totalitarianism. Apocalypse: Stalin: The rise of Stalin, from his early beginning as a bankrobber to the cold-blooded leader of the Soviet Union. Apocalypse: The Second World War: Apocalypse: The Second World War(2009) is a six-part French documentary about the Second World War. The documentary is composed exclusively of actual footage of the war as filmed by war correspondents, soldiers, resistance fighters and private citizens. The series is shown in color, with the black and white footage being fully colorized, save for some original color footage. The only exception to the treatment are most Holocaust scenes, which are presented in the original black and white.
