Synopsis:
Mousy Lucia (Francesca Inaudi), who works at a Milan ad agency, hires jobless thesp Antonio (Riccardo Scamarcio) and tries to mold him, Pygmalion-style, into an ideal man for her friend, Maria (Gabriella Pession). That way, Lucia can snag Maria's hubby-to-be, Paolo (Giampaolo Morelli), for whom she's long carried a torch. Though it's weighed down by overwrought dialogue and cardboard characters, pic is buoyed by some well-calibrated perfs. Bubbly Pession, U.S. born and bred, makes upper-crust Maria an engaging, unwitting rival to Lucia; Scamarcio, who became a minor teen heartthrob playing a thug in helmer Luca Lucini's debut, 'Three Steps Over Heaven,' strikes the right balance between gigolo and scruff.
