Synopsis:

Family drama set in the Italian quarter in upstate New York. Maria is the matriarch of an Italian immigrant family, and struggles as a tailoress to raise her three children. Michael and Lucia are responsible and try to make their mother see the true colours of their baby brother Santino, who is a charming con-artist and part-time bank robber. Each time he plans a heist, Maria turns up to foil it. She even speaks to her dead husband for advice on how to stop Santino from becoming a criminal but he too condems Santino. Then, Giovanni, an old family friend turns up from Italy on a visit. He has a plan to help Maria and Santino and settle the family hostility.
