Synopsis:
Priest Henrik Nordstrom is shot outside a hostel which he has been using to have sex with his lover Lotta, wife of Peter Unell. Unell is managing director of a firm Prominent Care,which exports hospital apparatus to Africa and the priest was involved with it. Henrik's pious wife Asa was aware of her husband's affair. Lotta tells Wallander she was about to leave her insensitive husband for the priest and candid photos of her with Nordstrom are found,along with the murder weapon in Peter Unell's house. As he stands trial for murder Wallander is convinced he has been framed and sets out to prove it.

A priest is found shoot outside an motel in Ystad, whats looks to be an attempt of cold blooded execution. Wallander and his team are seeking clues while the priest, whom Wallander thinks could point out the guilty party, is fighting for his life. When the police finds out the priest has had an love affair outside of marriage they begin to believe that it has all been an act of yellousy. But where is the murder weapon - and which of the betrayed parties has the strongest motiv?

The hostel in Snårestad is the location of a crime of passion in The Priest. A priest is found shot outside the hostel in what appears to be an unex- plainable execution, but as he fights for his life in Ystad Hospital his extra-marital love affair comes to light.
