Synopsis:
Horatiu Malaele helmed this Romanian-language nuptial comedy. A period film set in March 1953, at the exact moment of Josef Stalin's death, it tells of a couple, Fira (Luminita Gheorgiu) and Iancu (Alexandru Potoceanu) determinedly attempting to celebrate their wedding festivities despite repeated interruptions thanks to the dictator's passing. The title translates, literally, as Silent Wedding.

Romania, 1953. in a small village, a young couple is about to get married. Guests arrive, the banquet is ready and everything is prepared for the ceremony. Unexpectedly, the Russian Army shows up, Stalin is dead, a national mourning is declared, they have one hour to break up. They finally decide to celebrate against all and make it silent...

A couple try to celebrate their wedding despite an official ban on festivities due to the death of Soviet leader Joseph Stalin.
