A 23-year-old man looking to escape the burden of his alcoholic mother strikes up an illicit online relationship with a 15-year-old schoolgirl.

Love Conquers All (2006)
This ultra-low-budget narrative of a young woman's arrival in Kuala Lumpur feels both utterly fresh and completely inevitable.

My Daughter (2009)
A story about a careless mother and her lonely, insecure daughter. Eighteen year old Faye is always on the edge because of her mother's boyfriends. Her mother survives by running a beauty shop. Since there are only the two of them, they are very close and are at times like friends or sisters, but to Faye, her carefree mother is also like a child she needs to watch after. She is also plagued by rumors about her and her mother. Her anger reaches its limit when she learns that her mother is pregnant. Sadly, she can't do anything but endure reality and hope to escape her dull and depressing life.

Rain Dogs (2006)
"Rain Dogs" centers on Tung (Kuan Choon Wai), a young man from a small Malaysian town who ventures off to Kuala Lumpur to meet up with his elder brother (Pete Teo). The journey to the city is fraught with misadventure, a catalogue of everything that could go wrong going wrong. Defeated, Tung eventually returns home to his mother (Yok Lan Lee) only to discover, shortly afterwards, that his brother has been killed in a Kuala Lumpur pool-hall.

Woman on Fire Looks for Water (2009)
The story of Ah Fei, and his father Ah Kau. Ah Fei is in love with Lily, but she has a boyfriend. Ah Kau is dying, but visits an old lover, Ai Ling. A personal tale of love, longing, and ultimate forgiveness.

The title Young Malaysia Collection, features five recent Malaysian films by four young, talented filmmakers: My Daughter (Charlotte Lay Kuen Lim, 2009), Love Conquers All (Tan Chui Mui, 2006), Woman on Fire Looks for Water (Woo Ming Jin, 2009), At the End of Daybreak (Ho Yuhang, 2009) and Rain Dogs (Ho Yuhang, 2006). Last year saw the première of the film 15Malaysia. An exceptional project: fifteen Malaysian filmmakers, the cream of the New Wave generation, have given their vision of Malaysia today in fifteen short films. Contributors include Charlotte Lay Kuen Lim, Tan Chui Mui, Ho Yuhang and Woo Ming Jin. Their short films make up the extras on the DVDs.
