Our Life (2010)
Claudio, a construction worker, works on a site in the suburbs of Rome. He is madly in love with his wife who is pregnant with their third child. However, when he finds the remains of an illegal immigrant under the site and doesn't report it, fearing he'll be out of a job if construction comes to a halt, it upsets his simple and happy life. In a rage for life, Claudio energetically fights against the injustice that fell upon him. Love and support from his friends and family as well as the laughter of his children will help him to triumph against the odds.

Me, Them and Lara (2009)
Father Carlo returns home after years spent in Africa in an humanitarian mission. Instead of getting the expected peace of mind with the help of his family, he'll face their problems: for instance, his father has married Olga a Moldavian woman much younger than him and Carlo's brother and sister are worried about the heritage or what's let of it.

Happy Family (2010)
Academy award-winning veteran director Gabriele Salvatores (Mediterraneo) delivers a colourful tongue-in-cheek comedy about a writer holed up in his apartment in Milan one hot summer trying to punch out a story while the characters come to life around him offering their input on the direction they think the story should take.Recently dumped screenwriter Ezio (Fabio De Luigi) is having trouble writing a story about two neurotic families whose paths cross when their teenage children, Filipo and Marta, decide to marry. The family members - Filipo's parents (played by scene-stealer Fabrizio Bentivoglio and the magnificent Margherita Buy) and Marta's parents (the remarkable Diego Abatantuono and Carla Sinoris) arrange to have dinner to meet for the first time, with hilarious consequences. Ezio soon writes himself into his script, and into a love story, while the characters bother him about having bigger and better roles!Gorgeously shot, playfully acted and energetically paced, Salvatores tips his hat to the film's origins on stage (co-scripter Alessandro Genovesi helped adapt his own successful play) with opening shots of a stage curtain, preparing the audience for the theatrical interplay to come.

What More Do I Want (Come Undone) (2010)
Come Undone, a sober exploration of the disruptive effects of adultery on family life, portrays infidelity, despite its thrills, as almost more trouble than it's worth. At the same time the sex scenes show the power of unleashed passion to make the rest of life feel like a laborious, frustrating slog. Directed by Silvio Soldini from a screenplay he wrote with Doriana Leondeff and Angelo Carbone, this movie is set in and around Milan, which is filmed without a smidgen of glamour. Miserable and agitated when not together, Anna (Alba Rohrwacher), a comfortably married accountant for a small insurance agency, and Domenico (Pierfrancesco Favino), a slightly older waiter who is married, are seized by an irresistible carnal attraction once Anna impulsively makes the first move. The besotted lovers face the usual logistical obstacles. Where and when will they meet? And what lies can they get away with telling?

Draquila - Italy Trembles (2010)
Why do Italians vote Berlusconi? The violence of propaganda, the impotence of citizens, questions of the economy, illicit power relationships... And a catastrophe: the city of L'Aquila devastated by an earthquake... all these combine to show how the young Italian democracy has been subdued. The caricature of Berlusconi - one of the director's most celebrated impersonations - strolls through Aquila's refugee camp and wanders the deserted town like an emperor at the end of his reign. A town devastated by an earthquake - the perfect location from which to recount Italy's drift into authoritarianism, the mess of blackmail, scandal, swindles and inertia of the political classes, the media and the citizens, that have paralysed the country.

The Cézanne Affair (2009)
Gabriele Rossetti returns to southern Italy to say a last farewell to his father, a former stationmaster in a small town not far from Bari. The old man reawakens in him memories of his childhood, of his loving and beautiful mother and fun-seeking uncle, his friends, but also of his father's irascibility and exasperation over his thwarted attempts to realize his artistic ambitions. Ernesto was convinced he was destined to become a famous painter and was willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of his beloved masters and for his belief in his own talent, even his own pride - and this his son cannot accept, determined that he won't turn out like his father. It is only now that, years later, through chance and circumstances, Gabriele begins to understand Ernesto and to see what sort of person his father really was.

Ten Winters (10 Winters) (2009)
Winter 1999, student Camilla (Isabella Ragonese, 'La Nostra Vita') leaves home to study and takes up residence in a semi-derelict house in an overcast Venice devoid of tourists. On the last leg of her journey - a ferry to her island - she's spotted by a would-be Romeo, Silvestro (Michele Riondino, 'The Past Is a Foreign Land'). Despite getting the brush-off, Silvestro follows Camilla to her home and manages to insinuate himself as a guest for the night, but he fails in his gentle efforts to seduce her. Over the next ten years Silvestro and Camilla develop a strong bond, and the narrative beautifully captures the bittersweet push and pull between two souls who keep finding their way back to each other. Charming performances by leads Michele Riondino and Isabella Ragonese combine with a restrained, intelligent atmosphere to create an involving romantic drama which echoes the mantra 'Would've, could've, should've' and highlights that, in life, timing is everything.

The First Beautiful Thing (2010)
This touching and nostalgic drama from Paolo Virzì, director of the 2009 festival's opening night smash-hit 'Her Whole Life Ahead', tells the story of a misanthropic son returning to his hometown to see his mother. In 1971, at a popular beach resort near the Tuscan port of Livorno, gorgeous wife and mother, Anna (Micaela Ramazzotti), is roped into a beauty contest. Her jealous husband, Mario (Sergio Albelli), is enraged by the attention from assorted wolf-whistlers, while 8-year-old son Bruno is horrified by the spectacle of it all. His younger sister Valeria is the only one enjoying the scene. Jump to the present, when Bruno (Valerio Mastandrea) gets an urgent visit from Valeria (Claudia Pandolfi) telling him their mother (Stefania Sandrelli) is sick. Bruno tries to wriggle out of going back to Livorno but finally agrees, the trip triggering an assortment of bittersweet memories.

Marriage & Other Disasters (2010)
40-year-old Nanà runs a small bookstore in Florence. Oppressed by her wealthy family and disillusioned by an old, great love gone bad, Nanà lives alone with her cat Marcel. Single for years, she has no intention of changing her life. She doesn't want to get rich or famous through her work and has given up trying to find the man of her dreams, even though she's secretly in love with the narcissistic and adventurous novelist Bauer, who exploits her for small jobs. But at her young sister Beatrice's wedding Nanà's life will be turned upside down and her certainties destroyed by nice rock climber Alessandro.'

Sorry If I Want To Marry You (2010)
This highly anticipated sequel to the sensational box office hit 'Sorry If I Love You' is a delightful comedy that continues the romance between Alex and Niki. A festival highlight for all romantics. Everything is going splendidly three years after Alex (Raoul Bova, 'Under the Tuscan Sun'), a mature and successful advertising agent, and the teenage Niki (Michela Quattrociocche), swore eternal love. They live together, they're in love and everything seems just right. That is until Niki starts moving in new social circles at university. Becoming increasingly paranoid that Niki might leave him for a fellow student her own age, Alex decides it's time to pop the question. A domino effect of misunderstandings and miscommunications unfolds as the pressure builds on their previously trouble-free relationship. Moccia energetically directs this brilliant and funny romance, capturing Quattrociocche's disarming charisma and Bova's intensity scene after scene.

Baaria (2009)
Baaria is a lushly romantic tapestry of 20th century Italian life as seen through the eyes of a Peppino as he grows up, matures, marries and revisits a collection of sentimental memories. 'Baaria' is the dialect term for Tornatore's native Bargheria, and the film unfolds in this hot, dusty Sicilian village where the young Peppino's childhood coincides with the rise of the Fascists, the declaration of war and liberation by the Allies. The older Peppino joins the Communist Party and falls in love with the beautiful Mannina; events that are to shape and define his adult years. Tornatore teams up with legendary Italian composer Ennio Morricone in this, their eleventh feature together. 'Baaria' also features cameos by stars Monica Bellucci, Raoul Bova, Donatella Finocchiaro and others.
