Synopsis:
Living a life of luxury at Redford Hall, Annabella Lagange is blissfully unaware that her father Edmund is a spendthrift and a womaniser. His debts are threatening to ruin the wealthy family into which he married. Plus Annabella doesn't know the shameful secret that she is the daughter of a local prostitute. Annabella grows into a beautiful young woman but when she reaches 17 her cosy world is shattered. Starring Nigel Havers (Manchild), Brendan Coyle (North and South) and Emily Mortimer (Cider with Rosie).

Annabella Lagrage is ten years old and living the life of luxury at Redford Hall. Unknown to her, her parents are unhappily married and their debts are threatening to ruin them. During a family row when Annabella is 17, her father reveals that her real mother is a prostitute.
