Synopsis:

The latest movie from Manuel Huerga,who directed Daniel Brühl in 2006?s Salvador (Puig Antich) as well as the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, is a historical drama about the declaration of the Second Spanish Republic and the confrontation between the two Catalan government presidents of the era, Francesc Macià (Fermí Reixach) and Lluís Companys (Pere Ponce).

14 d'abril. Macià contra Companys is a fiction camouflaged as a documentary in which the main characters tell the story in first person of a crucial episode in 20th-century Catalonia, while the camera describes the events that took place in Barcelona from 14-17 April 1931, the three days for which the Catalan Republic existed.
