China Is Still Far (2009)
On 1 November 1954, a couple of French teachers and an Algerian Kingpin are victims of a deadly attack near Ghassira, a small village Chaoui. This act marked the beginning of the war for the independence of Algeria. 50 years later, Malek Bensmail places his camera in the region considered the 'cradle of revolution' and asks its people their views on history, language and France.
