Synopsis:
A brilliant but no less awkward high school senior coming to terms with his mother's recent death and his father's refusal to take hospice treatment for recurring and terminal cancer strikes a connection with a sweetly natured transfer student and an English teacher who is sympathetic to his plight. However, in a failed attempt to communicate his depressing situation to a friend Norman instead claims he is the one dying. Soon word spreads around the school and while former bullies apologise for past misdeeds and cheerleaders show a newfound interest Norman adds further emotional weight to his tremendous burden. Anchored by its winning performances and offbeat moments of heartfelt humour, Norman sifts through the wreckage to find the hopeful and humbling moments of life when confronted head on and lived to the full.

A troubled high-school kid (Dan Byrd) pretending to be dying of cancer confronts problems with his new girlfriend (Emily VanCamp) and terminally ill father (Richard Jenkins) as he struggles with his daily existence. His mother recently died, which led him to self-harm.
