Synopsis:
When you've spent your loan in another continent and returned home to become your parents' worst nightmare, your name is the only thing that's true on your CV and you'll do way too much to get a free drink, that's when you know… you're a Drifter. Meg (Jessica Knappett) is 24 and she's on her second gap year. In Leeds. She would be getting herself a 'cool arty media-y job' but life seems to be getting in the way a bit. She hasn't had sex in twelve months, her ex won't leave her alone and her work uniform is a mobile phone. Her two best mates, Bunny (Lydia Rose Bewley) and Laura (Lauren O'Rourke) are going through a similar quarter life crisis. Posh daydreamer Bunny is a 'born entertainer' struggling to come to terms with the mere idea of work as she waits for her call to 'showbiz'. No nonsense northerner Laura is on the lookout for a quick fix, to 'win the lottery or have a bad accident and get a compensation payout.' For these girls, things aren't quite going as planned at work (flyering), at home (Mum and Dad's) and in the bedroom (walk in wardrobe). It's a good job they're all in this together.

Season 1
Home S1, Ep1 31 Oct. 2013
Meg and her spiritually-obsessed cousin Bunny return early from their gap year in India to be met by their brassy best friend Laura - and also Meg's ex-boyfriend Mark, who refuses to believe they are through. Back home Meg's parents are more pleased with the fact that her brother James has a work promotion than to see her and demand she gets a job and pays rent. Mark has in fact moved everything out of her room into a flat he insists they share so she moves in - making it clear that the arrangement is strictly platonic. In the pun Laura introduces Meg and Bunny to her...
Scabies S1, Ep2 31 Oct. 2013
Now sharing with the other girls Meg takes to the streets dressed as a smart phone for Malcolm and attracts Nick, who takes her on a date. Laura is less fortunate as her scabies has returned, requiring yet another visit to the chemist. Meg's date is a catastrophe as she is nervous and shows herself up, mentioning the scabies so Laura, in order to cheer up both Meg and a depressed Bunny, gate-crashes a party with them. In fact it is actually a wake but Meg does get to bed the deceased's handsome brother Barney and even gets a call from Nick, suggesting a second date. ...
Work Experience S1, Ep3 7 Nov. 2013
Fed up with handing out brochures Meg quits and applies for other jobs, securing an internship with local radio station Pennine Hits. In fact it is also doling out leaflets in a silly costume but then she gets the chance to be the studio intern, albeit the butt of sexist jokes from morning DJ Paul and his LOL Squad. Meg actually gets to join them in a broadcast but gets carried away by her efforts to emulate their laddish humour and the internship ends, landing her back on the streets with Malcolm.
Dry Run S1, Ep4 14 Nov. 2013
When Laura and Bunny learn that Meg has been celibate for twelve months they decide she should get a lover and, as a dry run, Bunny fixes her up with her old university contemporary Sweaty Tom. Meg knows she is punching below her weight with Tom but her attempt to seduce him goes awry since he is only interested because he thinks she is a Lesbian so she kicks him out. Meanwhile, to the others' horror, Bunny believes she has found true love with the elderly Hugh but the romance is punctured when she realizes that he is her old primary school teacher.
Friend Night Stand S1, Ep5 21 Nov. 2013
Whilst Bunny enjoys endless sex with hairy, half-naked Cillian Meg meets a new friend, Lesbian Ellie, and invites her to her brother James' twenty-first birthday dinner where inevitably everybody assumes that Meg is gay and Ellie her girlfriend. The group moves to a burlesque bar where Laura pulls footballer Rick Henderson and Meg tells Ellie she is straight, not that Ellie cares because her real crush is on Bunny, who is not unresponsive. Laura meanwhile sees her dim boyfriend Gary in a new light after he nuts Henderson for insulting her.
Nineties Night S1, Ep6 28 Nov. 2013
Behind with the rent the girls agree to give out fliers for the Nineties Night Mark is organizing at a local club. Meg goes along to it and is very impressed by Mark's handling of the evening, so much so that she proposes to him but soon regrets it. However he calls her bluff before deciding that he would prefer rent money to marital bliss. Bunny meanwhile takes on modelling work, which turns out to be posing half-naked for the salacious Davide though she does make a profit and is pleased with the finished product.
