Synopsis:
According to a legend The Romantic era 'youth novel' The Sorrows of Young Werther by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe had caused a wave of suicide. Jarmo Lampela's small-scale film leans on this late 18th century classic. The film tells a story about a sculptor called Viitanen, who hasn't been in contact with his son for over fifteen years. He gets the news of his son's death via mail. Viitanen makes his way to find out what kind of life his son had led. On his journey he meets a young kindergarten teacher who had been friends with his son and learns that he had been living in Suomenlinna close by to him. Based on that information the father thinks the son has been trying to contact him.
