Synopsis:

Karin's Mom and Dad had been married for 38 years but slept in separate bedrooms the last 15 years. Suddenly the mother wants to divorce. The house is put out for sale. They meet on the weekends to pack things up. Karin follows with the camera. Her Mom dances as the boxes are filled, waltzing through the living room with an invisible partner. What is waiting for her in her new life? Alone in the large house, her Dad can no longer control his memories and starts to speak.

Is it OK to throw away the old wedding dress? What do you do with the crystal glasses that nobody wants? A Separation by Karin Ekberg is a tragicomic documentary that portrays the very last acts of a long marriage.
