Synopsis:
It's the end of the world, and humanity is on the verge of self-destruction as nuclear war erupts. Faced with imminent destruction friends Tom and Suze unite for one last passionate moment, except they don't die, which makes things a little uncomfortable the next day. Eight years on, they are stuck with each other and wander the post-apocalyptic landscape that used to be England with Laura, their daughter from that fateful night. Along their travels they meet clusters of survivors trying to decide which bits of civilisation to reintroduce to their new world. Hilarious, touching and totally original, Cockroaches asks what it means to be human, and its answer is seriously funny. The series features a first class ensemble of iconic and next generation comedy actors including Daniel Lawrence Taylor (Hunderby) and Esther Smith (Cuckoo), Jack Whitehall (Fresh Meat), Alexander Armstrong (Pointless), Nigel Planer (The Young Ones), Jaime Winstone (Made in Dagenham), Caroline Quentin (Men Behaving Badly), Robert Bathurst (Downton Abbey), Dan Renton-Skinner (House Of Fools) and comedians Rich Hall and Tom Davis (Plebs).

Season 1
Episode #1.1 S1, Ep1 5 Jan. 2015
Ten years after Britain is hit by a nuclear strike Tim, Suze and their little girl Laura emerge from their shelter to find other signs of life. They encounter a group of survivors led by foul-mouthed jive-talking Oscar, Suze's childhood sweetheart. Against the wishes of jealous Tom the family joins the commune but soon Tom and Oscar are vying for supremacy after Tom learns that Suze made out with Oscar.
Episode #1.2 S1, Ep2 5 Jan. 2015
Having bested Oscar Tom enjoys being the group's new leader until discovers the fights to the death for cereals and the resultant cannibalism, condoned by a strange doctor. Suze however becomes very popular, both as the tribe's school-teacher and as a heroine when she kills a bunch of marauders. She also suggests that to end the power struggle between Tom and Oscar the group should be ruled by committee.
Episode #1.3 S1, Ep3 5 Jan. 2015
With supplies running low Tom and Oscar lead a foraging party to the nearest supermarket, which is deserted except for Stevie Giggle, Tom's favourite children's personality, who has just eaten his partner Sammy. They are attacked by Spectrum, a fearsome gang of female cannibals who kill some of the group with bows and arrows. Laura and tribe member Felix ride to the rescue but Oscar is left behind.

When the children start to turn green there are fears of nuclear contamination though the doctor claims to have the antidote and will heal Laura if Tom sleeps with him. Tom is not happy when Suze's mother Cathy arrives at the camp with her new man Pete, Tom's former gym teacher, who used to bully him and still continues to do so. Tom forces Pete to leave after beating him at musical chairs but Ash proves to be a spy for Spectrum, who invade the camp and make off with Tom and Laura.
