Synopsis:
In this fearless and brilliant story about the cowardice of making art, a director and his lead actress form a complicated relationship off set during the production of their new film. Director Corneliou Porumbiou proved his formal brilliance in the anti-thriller POLICE, ADJECTIVE, and once again is the mastermind of information, both real and perceived, in this film. Defined by single takes that last as long as a single reel of film, BUCHAREST/METABOLISM asks whether cinematic narrative isn't something that exists off screen as much as on. As challenging as it is truly funny, this may be one of the most envigorating new films you'll see this year.

Focused on a director and his leading actress while they are off the set. They discuss the discrepancies between film and digital cinema, Western and Eastern food, and try to capture an unfiltered (and seemingly impossible) sense of "reality" on film.
