Synopsis:
This Is England 86, 88 and 90 follow on from critically acclaimed 2006 film This Is England. Shaun (Thomas Turgoose), Woody (Joe Gilgun), Lol (Vicky McClure) and the rest of the gang are back together and all looking for love, a laugh, a job and something that resembles a future. Watch as they struggle with the soaring highs and harrowing lows of growing up and moving on. Set during the 1986 FIFA World Cup, This Is England 86 sees Shaun and his friends attempting to navigate life in Thatcher's Britain. With the gang back together after Combo's unspeakable act of violence, the future looks up - but they soon learn that the past always catches up with you, no matter how hard you try to forget. The events of This Is England 88 take place two years on, set in and around Christmas, there is a distinct absence of festive spirit as Lol and Woody struggle to come to terms with events from the past. Shaun, meanwhile, learns first-hand the pain that love can bring. This Is England 90 picks up the action in the spring of 1990, with some of the gang embracing the new decade with more gusto than others. Gazza's tears. Hubble's launch. Mandela's release. This is 1990. A lot can happen in a year, and in true This Is England style, their summer of love soon gives way to a winter of discontent.

This Is England '86 (2010)
This Is England '86 is a 2010 British drama miniseries written by Shane Meadows and Jack Thorne. A spin-off from the 2006 film This Is England, and set three years later, it focuses on the mod revival scene rather than the skinhead subculture. Like the film, This Is England '86 stars Thomas Turgoose as Shaun, although Lol (Vicky McClure) and Woody (Joe Gilgun) play even more central roles. The story takes place during the 1986 FIFA World Cup. As Shaun completes his last school exam, he realises he will have to find his way in the world. His friends, who include Woody, Lol, Smell, Gadget and Meggy, are still around, looking for love, entertainment and employment.
This Is England '88 (2011)
Set during Christmas 1988, Lol is haunted by the devastating events that took place two and a half years before. She and Woody both find themselves struggling to cope with their lives without each other after he leaves the gang. Lol is carrying the burden of her guilt, whilst Woody is trying to build a domestic life with a new girlfriend and a potential promotion at work. Shaun has started drama college and, although still in a relationship with Smell, he has grown close to a girl performing in his Christmas play.
This Is England '90 (2015)
The year is 1990, the rave scene has just entered England. The sound of the Stone roses lurks toward Shaun and the gang. This means that Woody and Lol are living in a domestic bliss, they are happy again. But this year will see huge changes in everyone. This is the year 1990. This is England.
