In 1960, a hardy group of prep school students boards an old-fashioned sailing ship. With Capt. Christopher Sheldon at the helm, the oceangoing voyage is intended to teach the boys fortitude and discipline. But the youthful crew are about to get some unexpected instruction in survival when they get caught in the clutches of a white squall storm.

A true story about a group of American teenage boys who crew a school sailing ship to gain experience, discipline, or whatever their parents feel they lack. The voyage is a true adventure for them all but it has its downs as well as ups.

Action adventure drama based on a true story. Set in the early 1960s, about a group of teenage boys who spend a year at sea aboard a floating prep-school, a square-rigged brigantine, captained by a stern but caring skipper. Several lives are lost during a fierce storm, and a courtroom tribunal is held to investigate the conduct of all concerned.
