Synopsis:

HALLE COMETS is the story of Ben, a young man in his twenties who lives with his father on a housing estate on the outskirts of Halle. Ben's dream: to travel the world and write about it journalistically. Ben's reality: distributing travel-brochures for less money and trying to find his father a new job. Ben's father Karl suffers because he lost his wife in a car accident two years ago. Since then he lives a secluded life, without any job, without any positive attitude to life. All decisions concerning household and money he leaves to his son. Ben loves his father and wants to take care of him. But on the other hand he also wants to live his own life and at last wants to let his dream come true and travel the world. So, Ben tries everything to find his father a new job and to bring some new purpose in his life. But Karl refuses to accept any offer. One day Ben meets Jana and falls in love with her. Jana is full of power and zest for life. She encourages Ben to take his life in his own hands and to defend his dreams against all adversities. So, Ben has to take his chance and has to make a decision.
