Agatha and the Storm (2004)
In Genoa, Agata runs her bookstore and, without meaning to, causes light bulbs and appliances to burn out. At the same time that a younger man declares his attraction to her, her brother Gustav, a morose architect, a distant husband, and an indifferent father, discovers that he was adopted and has a half-brother in the Po Valley. To Agata's great pain, she sees her young man with another woman - plus, Gustav cuts himself off from her and from his wife and son. Agata goes to the Po Valley, meets Gustav's brother and the brother's wife, and tries to reconnect by letting life wash over her. Wisdom comes from traditional Chinese medicine and from good literature.
Caterina in the Big City (2003)
When her father, Giancarlo is transferred to Rome from the small country town of Montalto Di Castro, Caterina, a 12 years old girl, will discover her new classmates, a totally new world, an ambient extremely divided politically. She starts developing her friendship with the 'left side', represented by Margherita, and the right, Daniela, side of her class. She will lose herself, without knowing who she really is. However, maybe Edward, the young Australian boy, who lives in the apartment across hers, can help her more that she thinks.
After Midnight (2004)
Martino is the night watchman for the Mole, the Turin Museum of Cinema, a job he loves, watching old silent movies till daybreak. Angel is a petty thief whose girlfriend, Amanda, works hard to get out of their tough neighborhood. One day, in trouble with the police, Amanda seeks refuge in the museum. She and Martino strike up a tentative relationship, but then Angel comes looking for his girlfriend...
Good Morning, Night (2003)
The 1978 kidnapping and murder of Aldo Moro, president of the most important political party in Italy at the time, Democrazia Cristiana, as seen from the perspective of one of his assailants -- a conflicted young woman in the ranks of the Red Brigade.
The Miracle (2003)
Tonio, a 12 year old boy, one day, gets run over by a car. Before he loses his senses, Tonio sees something which will change his life. When he wakes up from being in a coma in hospital, he casually comes into contact with a man who is dying. The electrocardiogram on the monitor is a flat line, but when Tonio comes near to the man and touches him, his heart starts to beat normally again...
The Wedding Dress (2003)
Drama centered around a young girl who is soon to be married. A few hours after trying on her wedding dress, Stella undergoes a terrible ordeal which leads her to withdraw from life and abandon her plan to get married. She leaves home, and attempts to start a new life in a nearby village.
My Brother-In-Law (2003)
Bari, today. Toni and Vito are very different from each other and brothers-in-law; they don't get on well. Tony is a worldly, easy-going forty-year-old, constantly on the go running his own small business and without a fixed routine. On the other hand Vito, who is married to Toni's sister, is a few years younger and has an ordinary job and lifestyle. While Vito and his wife Anna are at Toni's son's baptism, Vito's new car is stolen.
The Cruelest Day (2002)
Ilaria Alpi, a young, Italian war-corespondent, was on a dangerous mission in Somalia. While she covered the civil war, she also discovered a big and secret international enviroment scandale. Together with her cameraman she was killed in the streets of Mogadishus March, 1994. The film is based on a true story.
The Spectator (2004)
Valeria, 26, is a shy and solitary girl. She lives in Turin, working as a real-time interpreter. In her daily life there is no place for tenderness and affection. Only a routinary interest for the unaware Massimo, a man in his forties who lives in the house at the other side of the street, secretly watched by her through the shutters. Some brief encounters seem to create a very thin liaison between them, but the man is still a stranger to her. When he moves to Rome, everything seems to collapse in Valeria s life and she decides to leave Turin and follow him...
The Consequences of Love (2004)
Titta di Girolamo apparently has a regular and tedious life with nothing strange a part from his own name (as he uses to say). He lives in a Hotel in Lugano (Switzerland) since almost ten years, spending his days waiting for something we don't know. His life is too rigid, too detached following a flat routine. Titta ignore everyone and probably he has no emotions at all. Basically there is no story. But one day he decided, breaking all his personal rules, to exchange some words with Sofia, the hotel's barmaid. Incredibly all the situation change, emotions, love, mafia, death come back violently into Titta's life.
Certain Children (2004)
Psychological drama set in Naples about one of the Italian Mafia's 'baby killers' - adolescents trained to kill while they are still legally minors and therefore escape the full force of the law. Flashbacks tell the story of Rosario as graduates from early petty thieving to his first murder.
